Year 6 visit to Strathearn and Campbell College
All of our Year 6 pupils were recently invited to attend an Education Day at Strathearn School and Campbell College. This was designed to give our Year 6 boys and girls a flavour of what life is like in a post primary school. And what an amazing experience it was for all the children as they got to try out new skills and learn about some of the subjects they will hopefully study in their next school. Everything from making pizza rolls in the Home Economics room to making ice cream in the Science lab, from learning to play bongos to learning how to count to ten in Spanish. The pupils had a fantastic day and were looked after so well by the teachers and pupils from both schools. As always I am fiercely proud of how our Year 6 pupils behaved and interacted with their hosts.
A big thank you to all the pupils and staff at both Strathearn and Campbell for making us feel so welcome and for all the goodies we received during our visits. A special thank you to Mrs Young and Mr McKee for organising our visits and to our willing parental volunteers who gave up their time to accompany us.
