Year 6 Sports Day
Have Sports Day in June they said, the weather will be glorious they said! Not quite the temperatures we were hoping for but at least it stayed dry. Suffice to say that the Year 6 pupils were just a little bit excited by 1pm.
So with the new House system in place for the first time, there were some divided loyalties even between pupils in the same class, although I suspect the boys' and girls' support for their class came first judging by the noise levels. We had a wonderful afternoon with a stellar playlist keeping most amused and a few bemused. Highlights of the day included, as always, the boys' skipping relay - not a natural environment for many. The potato and spoon race never ceases to disappoint either. The level of competition was fierce but full of good humour. Some teachers did get somewhat carried away cheering their class on - we don't take things too seriously...honestly we don't!
Sorry to all those mums and dads who didn't get the opportunity to take part in a parents' race. I know how much you'd been training for that moment of glory... Thanks to all the friends and family who came out to give our amazing Year 6 pupils so much support. It was greatly appreciated.
