Year 4 Sixties Day!
The Year 4 children & teachers finished off our Sixties topic today in style with a “Psychedelic” Sixties day!
We all came dressed in fantastic Sixties outfits. There were rockers, hippies, pop stars, movie stars, reporters, bikers, roller skaters, footballers (it’s coming home!) and even Neil Armstrong himself! Prizes were given out to pupils in each class for best outfit - a hard choice with such a variety of characters!
We started our day by playing games in the playground that children would have played in the Sixties, followed by a “Swinging Sixties” disco, led by our very own dance master Miss Kerr! All sorts of shapes were thrown on the dance floor, including hand jives, mashed potatoes, strolls, twists and the Locomotion! πΊπ»π
We finished our day with a chance to watch some tv & movies from the Sixties, where the pupils realised how far cinema has advanced since then!
A really good day was had by all - Peace Out! βπ»
