Welcome back from Strandtown PTA
A huge welcome back to everyone after the summer break and a big hello to all the new families that have joined Strandtown this year. The PTA have a great year of events ahead both for the children and the adults. To kick off the autumn term we are having our Summer(??) BBQ on the 28th of September in Shorts Recreational Club. Hopefully everyone can join us for an evening of food and fun. It will be a chance for the class of 2018 to come back and see everyone and for the new P4 children and adults to get to know each other.
We are starting the year as we mean to go on supporting the school in trying to improve the daily school experience for all our Strandtown children. Mrs Hutchinson, a delegation of Strandtown parents and local politicians are meeting with the Permanent Secretary, Derek Baker and the Chief Executive of the Education Authority, Gavin Boyd to discuss the effect of the budget cuts in relation to our school. This follows on from the work carried out last year in lobbying our local politicians and the subsequent meeting held with them in June 2018.
There will be a programme of events for the year sent out shortly but in the meantime if you want to get involved with the PTA, the AGM is at 8pm on the 12th of September in the school staff room. Come along, see what we are about and stay for a cuppa.
