Week 4 - Drawing and Sewing
The session began with Mr Livingstone asking the pupils to draw themselves. He encouraged the pupils to think about their features carefully and produce an image of themselves. Mrs Patton had joined us for part of this session and she talked to the pupils about proportion and size. The pupils drew their portraits using pastels. Mr Livingstone then explained that the pupils were going to draw the portrait onto a T-shirt. They would then sew over the top of the drawing using a running stitch. For some of the pupils this was a new experience as they hadn’t sewed anything before! The time passed by very quickly as the pupils worked on their sewing. The pupils will be able to add to their T-shirts throughout the following week. The pupils thoroughly enjoyed this week’s activities.
