The Parent Focus Group met for the second time this year – another great session taking a look at our school. On the agenda this time were firstly, discussion around the outputs so far of the Parent survey and secondly, a discussion around the musical activities at Strandtown.
We are all very aware of the budget issues for Strandtown, however the Music dept is also coming under cost pressure for a number of reasons. We had in depth discussions about the allocation of musical instruments, auditioning for choirs etc... to ensure we are being as inclusive as possible – there will be a full review of all of this over the coming months.
The Focus group is such a good way of highlighting issues/positives about Strandtown with Mrs Hutchinson – as some of our P7 parents will be leaving at the end of June, we would encourage you to put your name forward next year if this is something you are interested in.
