Strandtown Hockey Girls competed in the BELFAST AREA QUALIFIER at Harlequins Hockey Club today (13/03/17) Two teams competed in the tournament with a clear focus to qualify for the NORTHERN IRELAND CHAMPIONSHIPS. The girls have been practising pre tournament & have put a lot of work into their game. Today was the day to 'show case ' their talent!

Some fantastic hockey by both our teams with some very impressive score-lines.
STRANDTOWN 1 then progressed to the Semi Finals which was against Stranmillis. This was a nail biting game which went to a Penalty Shoot Out with Strandtown progressing to the Final. Our girls met a very strong Methody team in the final and despite the constant battling tired legs were beginning to show and the girls went 1-0 down. The game finished with Methody the victors on the day however we are more than happy with our qualification to the Northern Ireland Championships at LISNAGARVEY on WEDNESDAY 29th MARCH 2017.
Fantastic hockey by all our girls we are so proud of your efforts and commitment each week. Thank you Miss Roleston and Miss Montgomery for all their organising and coaching and to all parents, grandparents etc who went to support our girls, it was great to see the whole Strandtown family out in force on such a beautiful day.
