Following the instructions of the Department of Education, all schools will remain closed on Tuesday 17 October. The Department of Education has taken their advice from the Met Office on the prolonged nature and potential severity of the storm. The decision will impact on not only the work of schools but also many businesses and services but the decision has been taken to avoid any potential risk to life for children and young people as well as staff.
