Minister Weir visits Strandtown
14th Dec 2020
This morning we were pleased to welcome Minister Weir to Strandtown. He came to see the two new wings and the improvements to our school accommodation, in addition to the areas of the school still requiring future investment.
He visited a number of classrooms and met with pupils from Year 7. They put eight questions to the Minister, which had been constructed by each of the Year 7 classes. These included: 'What is the wisest decision that you have made as Education Minister?', 'Do you think the AQE is the best process to decide which school each pupil should transfer to?', and 'Are you still happy with the decisions you have made this year?'
The pupils discussed the arrangements for restart and Mrs Hutchinson discussed the unique circumstances and needs facing Strandtown.
