Message from Mrs Hutchinson
Dear Parents,
Firstly a very Happy New Year to you and your families. I remain hopeful that better days await us all in 2021.
This morning there has been a hive of activity in readying our school for another period of remote learning. Today had been initially declared a Staff Development Day, that will now be allocated for use later in the year.
Our priority is to make this period of remote learning as successful as possible for all our pupils, and all pupils must engage in this period of home learning on a daily basis. Teachers will be posting on Dojo this afternoon a daily outline of what this will look like for our pupils.
Our aim, technology permitting, is for daily virtual ‘face to face’ learning opportunities for our pupils. While there will be a daily timetable, we appreciate that every household’s circumstances are different. Please just contact the teacher on Dojo if you need some flexibility around the day’s arrangements and we will aim to support parents as much as we can during this time.
This provision will be in place until Friday and should closures continue, our arrangements will be reviewed at that point. This also includes requests for pupils to attend school under the key worker/vulnerable criteria. We have received a high volume of potential requests for next week, and this will all need to be considered within school risk assessments.
I know a return to home schooling will be met with very mixed emotions. However, as parents and professionals we have learned a lot of lessons from the first closure and that can only benefit us now. We also have a school grounded in excellent partnerships with parents and staff. We are off to a good start!
Kindest Regards, Mrs H.
