Important Update Message from the Principal
Dear Parents,
I hope you have had a restful and enjoyable summer and that this message finds our Strandtown families in good health.
Schools have received the guidance today for restart and Minister Weir has issued two communications for parents, please find attached.
Our plans for return remain largely unaltered from when I last wrote to you at the end of June. The significant development is that classes are able to return as full sets within 'bubbles'. This is a welcome development which I feel will greatly assist the children's return to school.
One aspect which needs further work is around school lunches. Minister Weir's letter positions hot meal availability for lunch. This is of course desirable for pupils, however, as a large school staggering 300 pupils for lunch in class bubbles in the dining centre is not a viable option. I would therefore ask for your patience here as I seek further information next week.
Next week our class teachers will be setting up Class Dojo and will be sending all the key information required, including a welcome induction video, for restart.
Further information will follow next week and until that point, please continue to refer to my restart letter issued in June.
I know the weeks ahead will be filled with many concerns, questions and anxieties. Please know that the Strandtown staff are committed and ready to take every step required for your child's safety, well-being and educational development.
Kind Regards,
V Hutchinson
