Important Message from Mrs Hutchinson
Dear Parents
The days ahead are filled with uncertainty and concern. As you know school closure has been discussed by our politicians, but as yet we have no idea of when this will be happening. While school closure will bring greater health safety to our whole school community it brings a heavy heart for the missed opportunities for our pupils. As a parent there is enormous responsibility in helping our children navigate and understand potential changes to their lives and social landscape, and I am acutely aware of the impact for families in the days and weeks ahead.
Tomorrow the staff of Strandtown assemble to plan and prepare for all eventualities. Strandtown is served by the most dedicated group of people and together we will do all we can to support our parents and pupils. There will be no teacher led after school clubs this week to allow staff to prepare for closure.
I will continue to stay in touch as we gain clarity on the school’s position and I would encourage you to keep checking emails and our website.
My 7-year-old asked me how long this would all last and I replied that it was just for now! Not a great clarifying answer but I think we all need to believe in the temporary nature of all that is upon us.
Stay well,
Mrs Hutchinson.
