Good News from our PTA

9th Jan 2018

Happy New Year from your PTA! We hope you all had a very enjoyable Christmas. We start this year with some very good news; to date we have succeeded in raising £10341 for our school. £834.21 was raised at the Christmas Fair, £2242 from the Hamper Raffle. A big thank you to all of you who helped make this possible, for giving so generously to the hamper collection, to helping at the Christmas Fair, donating tombola prizes, mince pies & shortbread for refreshments at the Fair and for braving the elements to attend. This truly shows how every little helps. Our school is under unprecedented financial pressure and these funds raised will really help towards relieving these pressures.

We are delighted that two local groups have also come out in support of our school and are running events with all proceeds going to Strandtown Primary School.

The first event is a Tea Cup Craft Workshop by Little Leaves on Saturday 27th January, 10am – 12pm in Robin’s Hobby Cafe, 145 Holywood Road (opposite The Strand). The cost of the workshop is £5 per child & includes all materials & refreshments. Places are limited so booking is essential, either call in to the Cafe or contact Robin’s Hobby Cafe on Facebook.

The second is a well deserved night out for Strandtown parents and friends. The Old School Disco will be held on Friday 9th March in H&W Staff Club, Dundela Avenue, 9pm – 1am. Tickets are only £5 and are available from Heidi McAlpine (tel. 07980 267 233). So come along & enjoy top tunes through the decades, why should kids have all the disco fun?!

Thank you again for your tremendous support and we look forward to a successful and enjoyable 2018 for our school.
