Free flowing rugby at East Down Finals
On a beautiful Friday, a squad of 12 boys made their way to Ards RFC for the annual East Down Finals. With one team dropping out, the boys played 3 longer matches. Right from the first match versus Stranmillis, the boys set out their stall early with a comprehensive 6-1 victory. What followed was some of the best rugby ever played by a Strandtown team. Free flowing and fast in attack coupled with a ruthless defence gave the boys 7-0 and 13-0 victories over Regent House and Cairnshill Primary respectively. To watch these boys playing such fabulous rugby was an absolute pleasure for all who attended. With several tournaments to come, the boys should be confident of finishing the season unbeaten. Thank you to all the parents who came out to support the team and to those who helped out with lifts to and from Ards. What a day, what a team!
