Carrickfergus Castle with Room 35
12th Dec 2019
There's something about the weather and Room 35 trips to Carrickfergus...definitely not a match made in heaven! However, we are a hardy bunch and pushed on through. We had the opportunity to learn so much about life in a Norman castle - the feudal system, weapons, castle defences, history of the castle and even had the opportunity to see some of the restoration work to the castle keep. We are so fortunate to have such a pristine example of a Norman castle on our doorstep. It really brought our 'Castles' topic to life. Nothing beats experiencing a topic first hand. Not even the wind and rain could dampen our enthusiasm. A fantastic day!
